US Unemployment Rate fell to 4.4%

Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 211,000 in April. Employment rose in leisure and hospitality, health care and social assistance, financial activities, and mining. In April, leisure and hospitality added 55,000 jobs. Employment in food services and places continued to trend up over the month (+26,000) and has increased by 260,000 over the year.

Australian Unemployment Rate remained unchanged at 5.9%

Australian employment change rose more-than-expected last month, official data showed on Thursday. In a report, Australian Bureau of Statistics said that Australian employment change rose to a seasonally adjusted 60.9K, from 2.8K in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from -6.4K. Analysts had expected Australian employment change to rise 20.0K last month.

UK Unemployment Rate remains unchanged at 4.7%

There were 31.84 million people in work, 39,000 more than for September to November 2016 and 312,000 more than for a year earlier. The employment rate (the proportion of people aged from 16 to 64 who were in work) was 74.6%, the joint highest since comparable records began in 1971.

Non-farm payroll employment rose less than expected

The weaker-than-expected headline from the March jobs report will not deter the Federal Reserve from raising short-term interest rates twice more this year, economists said. The U.S. created just 98,000 new jobs in March. But economists say the data is not a signal that the U.S. economy is falling out of bed.
