U.S Unemployment Rate surprisingly up to 4.4%
Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 222,000 in June, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 4.4 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment increased in health care, social assistance, financial activities, and mining. In June, the unemployment rate, at 4.4 percent, and the number of unemployed persons, at 7.0 million, were little changed. Since January, the unemployment rate and the number of unemployed are down by 0.4 percentage point and 658,000, respectively.

Australian Unemployment Rate decreased to 5.5%
The bid tone around the Aussie dollar strengthened, pushing the AUD/USD pair to a fresh session high of 0.7626 after the Aussie data showed the economy added 42K jobs in May, which is well above the consensus estimate of 10K job additions. Full time jobs rise 52.1K. The economy added 52.1K in full time jobs, while the jobless rate dropped to 5.5%.

Australian Unemployment Rate dropped to 5.7%
The latest labour force data released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics – Labour Force data – for April 2017 shows that while employment rose by 37.4 thousand, full-time employment fell by 11,600 and monthly hours worked fell by 0.12 per cent. Underemployment rose by 0.1 points. The employment growth did outstrip the underlying growth in the population and with the participation rate steady, unemployment fell by 19,100.

UK Unemployment Rate fell to 4.6%
There were 1.54 million unemployed people (people not in work but seeking and available to work), 53,000 fewer than for October to December 2016 and 152,000 fewer than for a year earlier. The unemployment rate (the proportion of those in work plus those unemployed, that were unemployed) was 4.6%, down from 5.1% for a year earlier and the lowest since 1975. Read more...
