Consumer spending supported by wage growth

Consumer purchases climbed in July as incomes grew, showing the biggest part of the U.S. economy was off to a good start to the quarter. The 0.3% advance matched the prior month’s gain, a Commerce Department report showed Friday in Washington. The median forecast called for a 0.4% increase. Wages rose by the most this year. China's Trade Balance showed surplus of $43 billion

The producer-price drop indicates weak demand both at home and abroad for China’s industrial sector. Reversing the trend is a key focus of China’s policymakers as they attempt to meet an annual growth target of about 7%. UK Trade Balance deficit widen in June

The UK’s deficit on trade in goods and services was estimated to have been £1.6 billion in June 2015, compared with £0.9 billion in May 2015. This reflects a deficit of £9.2 billion on goods, in line with market forecasts, partially offset by an estimated surplus of £7.6 billion on services. Read more...

US Trade Balance deficit widen to $43.8 billion

The goods and services deficit was $43.8 billion in June, up $2.9 billion from $40.9 billion in May, revised. Analysts were anticipating smaller deficit of $42.9 billion. June exports were $188.6 billion, $0.1 billion less than May exports. June imports were $232.4 billion, $2.8 billion more than May imports. Read more...
