The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, increased by 2.1% compared with the level of a year earlier. The index of export prices increased by 1.7% in September 2017 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In August 2017 and in July 2017 the annual rates of change were +1.5%, each. From August 2017 to September 2017 the export price index rose by 0.2%.
German Import Prices up by 0.9%
As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of import prices increased by 3.0% in September 2017 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In August 2017 and in July 2017 the annual rates of change were +2.1% and +1.9%, respectively. From August 2017 to September 2017 the index rose by 0.9%.
