In November 2016 energy prices decreased by 1.7% compared with November 2015, prices of intermediate goods rose by 0.4%. In contrast prices of non-durable consumer goods rose by 1.5%, prices of capital goods by 0.6% and prices of durable consumer goods by 1.0%. The overall index disregarding energy rose by 0.8% compared with November 2015 and by 0.3% compared with October 2016.
German PPI up by 0.3%
In November 2016 the index of producer prices for industrial products rose by 0.1% compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. This was the first positive annual rate of change since June 2013 (+0.1%). In October 2016 the annual rate of change all over had been –0.4%. Compared with the preceding month October 2016 the overall index rose by 0.3% in November 2016 (0.7% in October and – 0.2% in September).
