Eurozone Unemployment Rate at the lowest level since 2011

The euro area (EA19) seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 10.4% in December 2015, down from 10.5% in November 2015, and from 11.4% in December 2014. Analysts were predicting no change. This is the lowest rate recorded in the euro area since September 2011. The EU28 unemployment rate was 9.0% in December 2015, stable compared to November 2015, and down from 9.9% in December 2014. Eurozone CPI inceased by 0.4% in January

Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 0.4% in January 2016, up from 0.2% in December 2015, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. This was in line with market forecasts.

Eurozone Industrial Production fell by 0.7%

In November 2015 compared with October 2015, seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 0.7% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.6% in the EU28, according to estimates from Eurostat. Analysts were forecasting 0.2% decrease. In October 2015 industrial production rose by 0.8% and 0.6% respectively.    Read more...

October 2015, and from 11.5% in November 2014. This is the lowest rate recorded in the euro area since October 2011.
