German CPI unchanged in April

The inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be 2.0% in April 2017. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the consumer prices are expected to remain unchanged from March 2017. The harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, too, is expected to increase by 2.0% year on year and to remain unchanged from March 2017 in April 2017.

Australian CPI rose by 0.5%

The annual rate of inflation has crept above two per cent for the first time in two years but won't have the Reserve Bank reaching for interest rate hike lever anytime soon with question marks remaining over the strength of the labour market. New figures showed the consumer price index rising 0.5 per cent in the March quarter, a slightly smaller increase than most economists had been expecting.

Eurozone CPI down in March

Euro area annual inflation was 1.5% in March 2017, down from 2.0% in February. In March 2016 the rate was 0.0%. European Union annual inflation was 1.6% in March 2017, down from 2.0% in February. A year earlier the rate was 0.0%. Compared with February 2017, annual inflation fell in seventeen Member States, remained stable in six and rose in five.

US CPI down by 0.3%

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) decreased 0.3 percent   in March on a seasonally adjusted basis, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics   reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index rose 2.4 percent  before seasonal adjustment.
