Euro area inflation stable in July

Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 0.2% in July 2015, stable compared with June 2015, in line with market forecasts. Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services is expected to have the highest annual rate in July (1.2%, compared with 1.1% in June), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (0.9%, compared with 1.1% in June), non-energy industrial goods (0.5%, compared with 0.3% in June) and energy (-5.6%, compared with -5.1% in June).

UK Unemployment Rate rose to 5.6%

For June 2015 there were 804,200 people claiming unemployment related benefits. The number of people claiming unemployment related benefits is up 7,000 from May 2015 (the first monthly increase since October 2012). Analysts were anticipating decrease by 8,900. It is down 240,200 from a year earlier, but 25,800 higher than the pre-downturn trough of 778,400 for February 2008. Read more...

Aussie higher on Australian job data

Morning part of today's session was marked by Australian job figures. Employment increased 7,300 to 11,768,600, thus beating expectations on decline by 2,100. Full-time employment increased 24,500 to 8,156,200 and part-time employment decreased 17,200 to 3,612,400. Unemployment increased 12,800 to 756,100.  Read more...

Eurozone CPI down in June, but remains above deflation territory

Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 0.2% in June 2015, down from 0.3% in May 2015, in line with market expectations. Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, food, alcohol & tobacco is expected to have the highest annual rate in June (1.2%, stable compared with May), followed by services (1.0%, compared with 1.3% in May), non-energy industrial goods (0.4%, compared with 0.2% in May) and energy (-5.1%, compared with -4.8% in May).
