From June 2017 to July 2017 the index fell by 0.1%. Consumer prices in Germany rose by 1.7% in July 2017 compared with July 2016. The inflation rate as measured by the consumer price index increased slightly for the second consecutive month. A somewhat higher rate than in July 2017 was last measured in April (+2.0%). Compared with June 2017, the consumer price index rose by 0.4% in July 2017. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) thus confirms its provisional overall results of 28 July 2017.
German WPI fell by 0.1%
As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the selling prices in wholesale trade increased by 2.2% in July 2017 from the corresponding month of the preceding year. In June 2017 and in May 2017 the annual rates of change were +2.5% and +3.1%, respectively.
