Compared with May 2017, exports were down by a calendar and seasonally adjusted 2.8%, imports by 4.5%. The foreign trade balance showed a surplus of 22.3 billion euros in June 2017. In June 2016, the surplus amounted to 24.5 billion euros. In calendar and seasonally adjusted terms, the foreign trade balance recorded a surplus of 21.2 billion euros in June 2017.
German Trade Balance surplus rose to 21.2 billion euros
Germany exported goods to the value of 107.2 billion euros and imported goods to the value of 84.9 billion euros in June 2017. Based on provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that German exports increased by 0.7% and imports by 3.6% in June 2017 year on year.
