The 0.3% increase in industrial producer prices in total industry in the euro area in November 2016, compared with October 2016, is due to rises of 0.7% in the energy sector, of 0.5% for intermediate goods and of 0.1% for nondurable consumer goods, while prices remained stable for capital goods and fell by 0.1% for durable consumer goods. Prices in total industry excluding energy rose by 0.2%.
Eurozone PPI increased by 0.3%
In November 2016, compared with October 2016, industrial producer prices rose by 0.3% in both the euro area (EA19) and the EU28, according to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In October 2016 prices increased by 0.8% in the euro area and by 1.0% in the EU28. In November 2016, compared with November 2015, industrial producer prices rose by 0.1% in the euro area and by 0.7% in the EU28.
