In April 2016, German production in industry was up by 0.8% from the previous month on a price, seasonally and working day adjusted basis according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). This was in line with market expectations. In March 2016, the corrected figure shows a decreased of 1.1% (primary –1.3%) from February 2016.
In April 2016, production in industry excluding energy and construction was up by 1.1%. Within industry, the production of capital goods increased by 2.2% and the production of consumer goods by 0.4%. The production of intermediate goods remained at the same level of the previous month. Energy production was up by 1.1% in April 2016 and the production in construction decreased by 1.7%.
Euro is currently being traded few points below 1.1370 level. Pair is likely to find support around 1.13 handle and resistance above 1.14 level. There will be no major data releases later today.
