The
inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be +0.1% in May 2016. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the
consumer prices are expected to increase by 0.3% on April 2016. This was in line with market forecasts.
The harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to remain unchanged in May 2016 year on year. Compared with April 2016, it is expected to increase by 0.4%. The final results for May 2016 will be released on 10 June 2016.
Euro is currently being traded few points below 1.1140 level. Pair is likely to find support around 1.11 handle and resistance above 1.1180 level. There will be no major data releases in the rest of the session.
