The trend estimate for the total value of dwelling finance commitments excluding alterations and additions was flat. Owner occupied housing commitments rose 1.9% while investment housing commitments fell 3.1%. In seasonally adjusted terms, the total value of dwelling finance commitments excluding alterations and additions fell 2.0%. In trend terms, the number of commitments for owner occupied housing finance rose 0.8% in October 2015. Overall, Home Loans fell 0.5% in October, beating forecasts on 1.3% fall.

In trend terms, the number of commitments for the purchase of new dwellings rose 1.5% the number of commitments for the purchase of established dwellings rose 0.8%, while the number of commitments for the construction of dwellings was flat. In original terms, the number of first home buyer commitments as a percentage of total owner occupied housing finance commitments fell to 15.1% in October 2015 from 15.4% in September 2015.

Aussie is currently being traded around 0.7220 area. Pair is likely to find support around 0.7180 handle and resistance above 0.7280 level. There will be no major data releases in the rest of the session.
