Australian Retail Sales seasonally adjusted estimate rose 0.3% in March 2015. Analysts were anticipating 0.4% incline. This follows a rise of 0.7% in February 2015 and a rise of 0.5% in January 2015 and is tenth consecutive month of increase. In volume terms, the trend estimate for Australian turnover rose 0.7% in the March quarter 2015.
The following industries rose in trend terms in March 2015: Food retailing (0.2%),Household goods retailing (0.5%), Other retailing (0.5%), Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing (0.8%), Cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services (0.2%)and Department stores (0.1%).
After the data Aussie was pushed higher and is currently being traded few points above 0.7960 level. Pair is likely to find support around 0.79 handle and resistance above 0.80 area. Later today, in the US session, ADP job figures are scheduled for a release.
